Yes, this is the story of my life.
It's not that bad, my friend, nor it is fine...
You see, in general - it is about learning to survive.
From day to day I watch these smiling faces,
These spiteful lies, so freely lurking on the lips,
These graceful acts between the silliest of nations,
And I do laugh when accidently truth would slip.
And yet again - I watch, as if in a slow motion,
An old man on the ground falls.
You'd think he's drunk, oh, yeah, why even bother?
To walk away is so much easier, of course.
And just behind you the group of children -
The hopes of our foolish adult minds -
Is beating up a hungry, lonely kitten...
Ha-ha, and what? A passer-by would only step aside!
And, sure, I'd yell, I'd run, I'd fight - to help
This old man, dying of a simple heart attack,
This kitten - tiny paws so cute and black -
But, tell me, friend... Who'd watch my back?
Who'd watch my back, I ask myself -
And it's as if... I am already dead.
